Assignment help – Discussion: Where in the World Is Evidence-Based Practice?
Where Is Evidence-Based Practice?
On March 21, 2010, EBP “grew up” and left home to face the world.
The Affordable Care Act required empirical proof to be enacted. The study of EBP has increased. EBP extends to allied health, education, and healthcare technology. Health organizations began promoting EBP.
This adoption will be discussed here. You will look at healthcare organizations’ websites and assess their use of EBP.
• Review the Resources and think about EBP’s definition and aim.
• Choose a reputable healthcare website (e.g., a reimbursing body, an accredited body, or a national initiative).
• Examine the webpage to see where and how EBP is obvious.
Week 1 Day 3
Post a review on the healthcare organization’s website. Describe where EBP appears (e.g., in the healthcare organization’s mission, vision, philosophy, and/or goals, or elsewhere on the website). Explain whether or not this healthcare organization’s work is anchored on EBP. Finally, explain how the information you found on the healthcare organization’s website altered your opinion of it. Give instances.

Essentials of EBP

Research-Based Practice is a clinical practice that uses the most current evidence to make patient care decisions (Bindman, 2017). Mayo Clinic Medical Center has adopted evidence-based practice (Emerson et al., 2017). The medical facility has stated that it practices evidence-based medicine. The medical center’s website contains a research page outlining its EBP program (Fang et al., 2016). The program’s goal is to improve the quality and appropriateness of health treatment. The Mayo Clinic Medical Center uses evidence-based practice by rigorously synthesizing and reviewing scientific literature to improve health care (Melnyk et al., 2016). The medical center is one of the 12 evidence-based practice centers sponsored by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). The institute also synthesizes research studies because one study can be biased (Farokhzadian, Khajouei & Ahmadian, 2015). Thus, rigorous synthesis and systematic examination of research studies facilitate patient care. The information I found on Mayo Clinic’s research program has impacted my opinion of the medical center. I discovered that the medical center is concerned about the quality of patient care (Saunders & Vehviläinen-Julkunen, 2016). I also learned that is one of AHRQ’s 12 evidence-based practice facilities sponsored across the US. The fact that the hospital is evidence-based has boosted my trust in it. So the medical center is reliable in diagnosing and treating illnesses.
