Week 2: Gathering Evidence
In order to build an evidence-based practice, it is critical to discover accurate and scientific materials. How comfortable would you be defending a new practice based on Wikipedia or a random blog article you found via Google? Investing time in gathering significant, credible information will pay dividends in the long run. Prior to beginning a project, a reputable and thorough researcher will assess what is currently known about a subject and the quality of the information evaluated.

This week, you’ll look for important, credible proof on a specific issue. Consider sites that have been previously evaluated by professionals in the industry for content quality. You also learn about evidence categories and search approaches for finding EBP evidence.

Literature Searches
Reviewing current literature to better understand a subject or issue is a crucial phase in the EBP process. By reviewing the literature, you gain background information on the subject, which you can subsequently use to gain fresh insights. Developing a firm grasp of a topic requires careful research of relevant information and resources.

This Assignment help – Discussion will teach you how to search the literature for proof on a topic.

This week’s Learning Resources include the essay “Facilitating Access to Pre-Processed Research Evidence in Public Health” and the multimedia presentation “Hierarchy of Evidence Pyramid.”

Review the Walden Library’s “Levels of evidence” page. Explore the sorts of databases accessible for each level of evidence and the differences between filtered and unfiltered resources.

Use the databases you reviewed to conduct a literature search in the Walden Library. Use one database for each of the three filtered levels and one unfiltered database. Count the hits you locate at each level of the evidence hierarchy.

Choose one article from each level of the hierarchy. Compare the articles’ quality and information depth. What would each resource be worth in establishing an evidence-based practice?
