Consequences of Social Class

Student learning outcomes or SLOs are statements that specify what students will know, be able to do or be able to demonstrate when they have completed or participated in a program/activity/course/project. Outcomes are usually expressed as knowledge, skills, attitudes or values.

•You are responsible for checking that you have correctly (readable format) posted your response. Do not email me after the due date telling me that you have posted your work but it did not show up OR it is NOT the correct file.

SLO Paper 2:

“For this SLO paper, you are to address a major consequence of social class membership. What are, for instance, some of the major, and often time life-long consequences of social class? There are a number of options that you might consider in responding to this question. How do these consequences relate to one’s physical and mental health; family life; political orientation and involvement; education; religion, or the criminal justice system. You may be able to identify other outcomes in your research.

Possible Questions
Does social class play a role in the health someone’s life? What role does social class play in education outcomes? Is family life different for families in the underclass as opposed to upper-class families?

Ideally, you want to focus on one dependent variable – such as physical and mental health. The independent variable for this paper would be social class.
So in this example, you might have write a paper that examines The health consequences of growing up in a poor family.
