Fear and Obedience in the Koran and the Holy Bible
The narration that is the focus of Fear and Trembling is illustrated From the Koran “The Exordium”. In the section, God informs Abraham to take his song to Mount Moriah, and to offer him as a sacrifice to God without questing the intentions of God. The passage is a significant example of complete faith demonstrated by all three monotheistic customs of accepting God’s commands without questioning. Johannes illustrates that while ethical spheres involves a specific individual’s duty to do a greater good for the community, the religious sphere deals with a person’s association with God. A religious individual cannot illustrate his conduct since the relationship exists between him and God alone (Ali 13).
The passage presents four alternatives of ethical behaviour. First, Abraham destroys the bond between him and his son so that Isaac’s faith in God does not lessen. Second, Abraham cannot understand God’s wish, and this leaves him both confused and remorseful. Third, he perceives God’s the command as a test of his faith in God, and lastly Abraham obeys God’s command but does not understand it.
Genesis 21-22 from the Holy Bible, illustrates the elusive ways through which God communicates with people. The two chapters relate to the subject of religious tradition of faith and obedience as illustrated by Abraham. The passage illustrates the continuing and personal relationship between God and Abraham and his descendants (Christopher 9). The two readings illustrate the manner in which God rewards his people for their obedience and their faith in him. By agreeing to faithfully sacrifice his son and leave his home to wander in the vast expanse of the desert, God enables Abraham to discover vast wealth. These moments illustrate absolute faith in God, in spite of the fact that the commands sometimes seem irrational and out of logic.

Throughout our discussions of holy texts, we often recognize similarities. Choose a passage from the readings assigned from the Koran and show how it illustrates a difference from those readings we studied from the Old and New Testaments. This difference can be about diet, faith, marriage, or any other subject that these holy texts address.

The Readings from the Koran are p.71 From The Koran “The Exordium”, From 62. “Friday, or the Day of Congregation”

The readings to be compared to koran is Genesis 1-3, 21-22, Matthew 5, 27, Psalm 23
