The requirements:

1. Format: Research essay writing service – MLA style, double-spaced, 12 pt. Font, Times New Roman. Research essay writing service – MLA Parenthetical references from your sources, and a Works Cited page in Research essay writing service – MLA format.

4. Each source, including the primary work should be quoted and cited inside the paper (Asimov 93) for example from “Robot Dreams”.

Suggestions/Ideas for topics:

Historical Approach: Homework help – Discuss the history of the Science Fiction genre, how it started, early works that would be seen later as fitting the genre. Common themes and relate to one of the stories.

Thematic Approach: Pick a Theme and relate to one of the stories:

See the file “Overview. Themes of the Sci-Fi Stories” that is attached for more on themes to research.

Here is are two lists of themes/issues from SIRS Issues Researcher for two of our stories.

“Who Can Replace a Man”

• Sovereignty
• Technology

You could also discuss different Conflicts in one of the stories and how it relates and affects the outcome. Does one conflict always lead to the next? Are outside factors/conflicts affecting the events independently or always intertwined?

Compare/Contrast Approach: Compare and contrast one of the stories with a movie that is similar or has themes in common.

The movie and story should have a definite connection that is established in the introduction and the Thesis should relate specifically to that. For example, comparing the movie I, Robot to the story “Robot Dreams”. The stories and plots are totally different, but both use the “Three Laws of Robotics” that Asimov originated.

You can also Compare and contrast one of the stories with another story or novel by the same author or another author that has a connection with its themes/storylines.

For example, “The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas” is basically a “Dystopic” story that seems “Utopic” on the surface until the suffering child is revealed. There are current novels and movies that fit this genre – The Hunger Games and The Giver for example. Though the stories and plots aren’t the same, there are commonalities that you could discuss, like the idea of “sacrifice” in The Hunger Games with “Omelas” or how in The Giver society appears idyllic, like “Omelas”, but a darker undercurrent is really going on.

If anyone has a different idea for a paper in this genre, just ask me if it’s okay and I’ll approve if so.
