Christianity and Islam are the most followed religions across the globe. They have various similarities and differences in the way they were spread. The two religions began with one prophet who introduced new teachings which attracted persecution, but they have survived against all odds.
Christianity was founded in the 1st Century CE while Islam was founded in 7th Century CE, but they are both Abrahamic in nature. The two religions have been involved in holy wars called crusades in the 11th and 13th Centuries (Sahner, 2016). Both religions believe in one monotheistic God, but Christians believe in Christ who died for their sins, while Muslims believe in Mohammed as the last prophet of God.
The geographical connection between Islam and Christianity is that they have a commonplace of origin in the Middle East. It started as a Jewish sect in Judea but later spread throughout the Roman Empire, Europe, and Africa. Islam also started in Medina and it spread to other regions including Africa and Europe (Sahner, 2016). The two religions were spread along the trade routes since traders influenced the beliefs of the people they traded with.
