I’m not sure embedding statements of maintaining proficiency fits well into a Code of Ethics. How does this directly lead to ethical behavior or ensures you will maintain a level of ethics. If you do not pursue the continuing education or conferences post certification, it seems to imply a level of unethical behavior or a non-compliant position. I believe a Code of Ethics is paramount in all aspects of life. My previous statements are not a buy-in to a cynical view, but highlighting a real aspect regarding the scope of certifications.

The co-mingling of proficiency and ethics seem awkward to me.
