Consider this patient care issue: the effects of family presence 350-450 words

Select two of the following questions to answer for your discussion posting (total 350-450 words, use references as appropriate to validate your position).
1. Consider this patient care issue: the effects of family presence in the critical care unit on the process of patient monitoring. Make an argument that qualitative methods are the best way to answer this question. 2. Contrast descriptive and interpretive qualitative research in terms of intent, analysis, and outcome. Give an example of a nursing problem that would be addressed adequately with each type of qualitative research. Why would qualitative traditions be the best approach? 3. Consider the research question, “What is the lived experience of women who have breast cancer and are diagnosed as infertile?” Devise a sampling strategy for this question, including inclusion and exclusion criteria and a specific sampling method. Why is this the best approach? 4. Do you believe that a qualitative researcher can reduce bias through bracketing? How might bracketing control bias? How could bias still be exhibited? 5. Select one of the methods for enhancing the trustworthiness of a qualitative study. Argue the strengths and weaknesses of the method relative to the validity of the findings. What is the effort intended to demonstrate? Do you think it accomplishes that purpose? 6. Qualitative analysis presents challenges that are much different from those of quantitative analysis. What are some of these challenges? How do you think each may ultimately affect the outcome of the analysis? Which do you believe is the hardest to overcome? 7. The constant-comparison analytic method is common in qualitative analysis. What do you believe is the rationale for a constant-comparison approach? What are its strengths? What are its drawbacks? 8. What is involved in developing a codebook? Why it is important? Describe how a codebook is used in the qualitative analysis process. Why is a codebook essential for content analysis and the development of themes? 9. Should qualitative research be scrutinized for reliability and validity? What is the advantage of doing so? What are the potential drawbacks of judging qualitative research with standard evaluation tools?
