It is equally viewed as advanced technology which allows communication through electronic means such as phones, videos over a distance. Moreover, it is not only meant to serve healthcare providers and patients in rural areas. However, it can equally be used to fit in with other specialists from all over the world using healthcare networks (Amin et al., 2020). Besides, with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, telemedicine is being used globally. It has helped reduce risks related to exposure to the virus. Also, telemedicine screening significantly helps reduce the costs of managing COVID-19 patients, especially those who are not extremely ill.
The global healthcare system is constantly improving. There are numerous technology inventions that are beneficial to improve the patient’s experience in his or her journey towards recovery. Besides, educational support for patients is highly encouraged by the regulatory boards. There is overwhelmingly high pressure for healthcare professionals to create affordable interactive and informative tools for their patients to help in giving patient education services. Involving patients in the decision-making process is a grand scheme engraved in telemedicine practice in nursing. Besides, the adoption of technology has reduced medical errors significantly. This bibliography analyzes various benefits of concrete health information systems and how they can improve a person’s health status and financial situation. Thus, healthcare systems have been integrated with various advanced technology tools such as telemedicine practice.
Many caregivers are progressively implementing computer technology and have realized the benefits of supporting the provision of healthcare services. Virtual communication has become necessary because governments have restricted physical interactions among people in both private and public places such as schools, hotels, and hospitals, among many others. The sources discussed below provide credible and reliable information regarding disadvantages, advantages, and numerous recommendations for using telemedicine.

On the other hand, there are various drawbacks of using these telemedicine tools, like lack of adequate knowledge of accessing and operating the tools. Also, there is limited physical interaction with caregivers, which some patients do not find therapeutic. In addition, these technology tools are heavily dependent on the internet, which unfortunately is not common in rural regions. Assessing the pros and cons of telemedicine, it is clear pros outweigh the cons because the technologies have been proved to increase patient satisfaction, increased accessibility to healthcare services, reduced operation costs, and reduced the spread of COVID-19.
