YIN and YANG
This DF is all things YIN and YANG. In all manners that you can think of – any aspect of YIN and YANG that fascinates you! Do some research to further elucidate and cement the concept with your fellow group members. For example, you might find YIN and YANG in our tissues most interesting and research the different tissues in the body and discuss the properties of each being YIN and YANG. You might prefer YIN and YANG energy in the body and discuss a particular meridian or a particular organ (and discover that YIN and YANG energy changes every two hours!!). You might be interested in the YIN and YANG aspects of the breath. It could be YIN and YANG in the Universe – that is water, earth, fire, etc. This is your opportunity to answer any questions you might have about YIN and YANG and share anything you might discover. Make sure to not simply repeat information already provided in class but expand on it and/or bring in something completely new!

For this final DF, ONLY YOUR INDIVIDUAL post requires referencing. This being said, I will be looking for at least two insightful responses to the postings of others in your group, (in addition to your individual post). Each discussion post should not exceed ~300 words. While you DO NOT NEED to reference responses to the postings of others in your group for this final DF, I will be looking for meaningful contributions and elaboration to at least 2 other group members.

YIN and YANG
The Yin and Yang concept is based on the ancient Chinese philosophy involving two opposite but interrelated things in the natural world. The Chinese philosophers believe that everything in the universe has yin and yang. Some of the factors of yin and yang include the unity of opposition between yin and yang. The factor regarding the unity o opposition means that all things in nature contain two opposite aspects. For instance, heaven and earth, ascending and descending, motion and inactivity, or day and night, with one being yin and the other yang. The mutual opposition and restriction between the two sides create unity, which results in the achievement of dynamic equilibrium. The dynamic equilibrium drives nature, such as the four-season variation and the day and night alternation.
The yin and yang philosophical concept is also associated with the functioning of the human body. The relative balance between the opposite and the harmonious relationship between yin and yang ensures the body remains healthy. If the relative balance is not attained, then the possibility of one having a disease rises due to excess or deficiency of either yin or yang. The concept of yin and yang, when associated with the human body or nature, it is clear that yin and yang dependent on each other despite being opposed to (Haodf, 2008). Yin cannot exist without yang, and at the same yang cannot exist without yin. The other factor of the yin-yang content is transformation. The transformation aspect involves either yin or yang’s ability to transform into each others’ side, whereby yin transforming into yang, and yang transforming into the yin. For instance, excessive yin may transform into yang, or extreme yang may transform into the yin. The transformation factor is associated with quantitative, qualitative conditions and syndrome changes.
