COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course prepares the student to identify common symptoms for the diagnosis and management of common health issues. The criteria for diagnosis, including diagnostic studies, will be discussed. This course will place an emphasis on health promotion, disease prevention, and health screenings across the lifespan, and providing culturally competent care. Professional, ethical, and legal issues are addressed. This course teaches students how to recognize common symptoms so they can figure out what’s wrong and how to treat it. The criteria for making a diagnosis, such as diagnostic tests, will be talked about. The focus of this course will be on health promotion, disease prevention, health screenings for people of all ages, and giving care that is sensitive to different cultures. There are talks about professional, moral, and legal issues.
