How to make yourself heard without rejecting the supervisor’s style of management.
Many people never say no to their supervisor’s for the fear of losing respect. But some of the things assigned to the juniors are inappropriate and need to be addressed without acting as rejecting the management.
One can talk to the supervisor on the negative impact of the work appointed to them and involve some co-workers and other superior workers asking them to talk to your supervisor on withdrawing the work assigned and replacng with one that is appropriate.
Ways of increasing the flow of information to supervisor in order to increase strengthen leadership patterns.
For effective communication, you can befriend the supervisor by talking to them freely and openly and also by referring to them for solutions to your questions. A free environment can be created by even popping in their office and inviting them for tea or by recognizing what goals they aspires to reach and offering to help. Using social media platforms, avoiding one way communication and listening effectively may strengthen leadership. Leadership patterns can also be improved by listening to your supervisors and by asking questions. It will show your interest and attentiveness. Contributing your opinions to meetings held.
How to bring the subject in a way your legitimate concerns.
You can acknowledge the work assigned and thereafter meet them to discuss the issue. This can be meet by talking about the whole subject and narrowing it down outlining the negative effects. One can also suggest another topic citing the importance of the new topic and why to avoid the other one. Also, it can be addressed in a written form.
Supervisors are at times difficult to deal with hence one should understand their strengths and weaknesses in dealing with the juniors. This will create a healthy working environment for you.
