Science Misconception WebQuest Assignment Description Purpose: This assignment will provide you with an opportunity to choose a common science misconception for your grade level and design a WebQuest to teach the correct science content. Task: To complete this assignment your lesson must address appropriate instructional levels, interests, and needs of diverse learners. You will present your WebQuest in class by posting it in the Assignment help – Discussion Board. As you begin planning you will want to consider the following: References at least 5 (full citation in Help write my thesis – APA). Purpose/Rationale – Provide detail on the purpose and rationale of your webquest. Why are you teaching a particular science concept using a WebQuest as a method of teaching? Behavioral Objectives – Make sure that you include behavioral objectives/target(s) that are appropriate in number and match your activities and your assessment. Also, include Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE) or Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Engage Learners – Plan an engaging and creative webquest that promotes higher order thinking. Your quest must address appropriate instructional levels, interests, and needs of diverse learners and target a science misconception. Grammar – Make sure to cite the information for your correct science. You need at least 5 references correctly cited in Help write my thesis – APA. PowerPoint – Make sure that you have an appropriate amount of information on each slide, good color contrast, links to website (do not just link from the URL- use a button or picture), pictures, etc. You must include all needed materials (worksheets, rubrics, etc.). Criteria for Success: References include the web links within your presentation, along with those used to verify the correct science included within your presentation. References need biographic information. Your webquest needs a hook or story line to get students engaged and excited about completing the webquest.
