A good example is the accountants, engineers or physicians. The reason is that engineers must apply various concepts to solve a problem. Additionally, accountants must know how to develop a balance sheet. Therefore, the skills applied by such people is crucial in their work. A person can also apply experience as knowledge in their workplace. Nurses have been identified as knowledge workers since they apply various skills to improve patient care. The task of the nurses includes gathering data and synthesizing other research studies to enhance patient outcomes.
Nursing informatics is a concept that involves the integration of data, knowledge, and information. The term is a combination of the nursing profession that requires data, knowledge, and information to take care of patients. The purpose of nursing informatics is to enhance the quality of decisions made regarding patient care. It thus deals with collecting data about patients and analyzing it to make conclusions. Nurses are thus required to keep all the data about their patients. The data will be stored over a period of time and analyzed. The analysis will show the trend of various illnesses and thus predict future scenarios and prevent such cases from occurring.

Additionally, some assault cases require emergency responses. Therefore, it is crucial for them to be knowledge workers who are armed with data, experience and knowledge. Additionally, they must apply nursing informatics to make their work easier and professional.
