One of the megatrends is affordable and customized healthcare to face demographic change. Currently, there are about 550 million aged over 65 years. This population constitutes over 40 percent of the entire healthcare costs (Megatrends). The focus of the company is to develop solutions that are tailored to efficient and affordable healthcare. The center is on early diagnosis to smart senior projects. They are aimed at supporting humanity to enjoy healthier and longer lives.
The company has an essential role in influencing society and helping in shaping the future. Siemens has an opportunity to bring about change in the area of health. The megatrend here offers the company the chance to bring about change and help the elderly to get better healthcare. One of the biggest challenges in society today has been on how to ensure that everyone gets access to good healthcare. The biggest problem has been on providing better services due to the various issues such as accessibility to healthcare services. The focus of the company is thus to bring about technology and make it at the center place of bringing about this change. Technology can offer better opportunity in ensuring that older people can check on their health without having to move to health centers. The driving force behind this trend is the impact of technology on healthcare (Wang 2014). Therefore, through this approach, the company can get a chance to come up with some techniques that could offer a better solution to healthcare. This could be an excellent opportunity to bring change and thus adopt technology in healthcare.
The focus of health can create a positive image for the company. The challenges of health are such a big problem that needs agent solution. An organization that offers solutions to the problem and especially the challenges that are related to the elderly might have a better image and reputation in public. Not only would this idea provide a good image for the company but also create a good brand image. Therefore, this could be the best approach that could help the company to have a better image.
However, the constraints that the company might encounter are the challenge of personalized healthcare is that it might be costly for the company. For the company to be able to reach out the over 550 million elderly, then they have to spend too much that might still drain the company expenditure. This would be a big challenge since it might taint the image of the company if it fails to deliver on its promises (Wang 2014). Therefore there is a need for the company to think of an approach that might work. Though personalized healthcare might be a good idea, there is a need for the company to think of the most affordable option for personalized healthcare for the elderly.
There is a clear indication that the challenge of healthcare demands urgent and workable solutions to the issue. However, the biggest problem that the company would face in developing approaches that are most effective and more affordable. The best opportunity that the company has is that it creates a good image since it can solve the problems that society has. The community has a dire need for a solution, and the best are both workable and effective. Therefore, there is a need to for the company to focus more on dealing with this issue.
