Over the years, the patient’s behaviors have been affected by different phases of the moon. Most medical emergencies increase and occur during the full moon.For instance, childbirth, as well as mental and psychiatric character. The beliefs are there for a long time now, illness such as mental disability and epilepsy experienced during the full moon and the situation are known as the lunar effect. Data have been collected over the years on the validity of the belief. A study done in German found out that the full moon does not correlate with emergencies and ambulance traffic.

The solution from the study is that health services to reduce the number of emergency transportation during the full moon because of traffic accidents.

During the full moon most of the days fall under Friday Saturdays and Sunday therefore most of the people are travelling at this particular day for occasions such as thanksgiving. (Onozuka, D., Nishimura, and Hagihara, 2018). When most of the people are travelling being a full moon day of not traffic will be expected on most of the roads. Therefore full moon is not related in anyway with ambulance traffic the traffic occurs due to high rate of travelling as well as changes in precipitation. A higher relative risk is identified due to changes in weather as well as holiday trips falling on the night of full moon especially midnight.
