NSQHSS Policies

Letter on Law, Ethics and Policy in Healthcare Administration
11th November 2017
Dear Sir/Madam:
Based on the recommended research, I support the implementation of the National Safety and Quality Health Policies (NSQHSS) in the nursing discipline. The policy helps in improving the level of quality care services delivered to the patients. The policies are designed to be applied to hospice nursing to shape the professional medical assistance to terminally ill patients. According to Epstein and Turner (2015), the policies provide clear guidelines on the performance of the medical procedures. For example, the NSQHSS policy helps in addressing concerns of infectious control. Under the policy guidelines, it is impossible for friends and relatives of the patients suffering from infectious diseases to contract the diseases (Reisman, 2015). Proper medical and diagnosis procedures are laid out to prevent potential infection from the harmful diseases that would undermine the overall health of the patients and other people in the hospitals.
I believe that the quality health policy is keen on shaping the design of effective patient-centered approach to lower potential infections. The policy recommends that clients should be part of the team creating the quality and safe care programs within the hospitals. The nurses should take opinion and feedback from the patients on the ways that should be adopted in the health care organizations to improve the delivery of quality health care (Oshima Lee, & Emanuel, 2013). Such an aspect can be possible when the health care facilities uses open communication channels. Open communication allows for the free movement of information from the low level units to the higher management level of the organization.
The health care policy also demands that the health care professionals should set up proper work schedules, medications, and other elements of treatment in response to the feedback from the clients. The policy guideline is keen on ensuring that patient specifications are considered in the formation of patient centered health care programs. In addition, the health safety policy is also positive and important in improvement of quality health care in the health industry (McDonough, 2014). The policy is flexible and places more emphasis on the community working well with the health care professionals. The collaboration between the public and the health professionals is important as it reduces potential risks facing he health care sector. The policy recommendation works as a uniting program for the varied stakeholders involved in the health care sector.
The implementation of the health care policy will improve the administration of care in the various facilities in a more effective way. It will create support systems that reduce the potential risks and costs within the health care facilities. Improved quality care services have a positive impact on maximizing cost savings among the health care systems (Fainter, 2011). Components of the health care policy are keen on eliminating financial barriers to heath care access. The federal and state governments are expected to invest more funding in the improvement of the existing health care systems (Santilli & Vogenberg, 2015). The support of the governments will make it possible to strength the health systems for long-term improvement and success.
In summary, it is clear that NSQHSS health policy is helpful and effective towards improving the overall quality of health care services. The policy will push for open discussion and review of quality and efficiency issues within the health care sector. For example, it will allow the patients to give feedback about the quality of services and recommend strategies that should be used in improving the health care services. It also places emphasis on patient-centered approach that is more beneficial to the society. Therefore, I feel that the health policy should be implemented to enhance the long-term health care improvement.
Sincerely,
Tim Kline
