I. Abstract
Summarize in maximum 200 words the main idea of your paper.
Remember to mention the
significance of your topic, a statement of the problem and objectives, a brief summary of
employed methods or your research approach and the most important finding.
– A self-contained piece of writing that can be understood independently from the essay or project
II. Introduction
A. Approx. 1 to 2 pages
B. Why is it important? What do we know? What don’t we know? What we will do (remember to
mention your research question)?
– remember to state why is it important not only say it is important
– clearly state what you are going to do
C. You can also include a breakdown of the “flow” of the paper.
III. Brief literature review
A. Approx. 3 to 5 pages
B. Must cite at least 10
academic, peer-reviewed

1. Sources must directly relate to research question
2. Good idea to have subsections that focus on your dependent variable, key independent
variable(s) and control variables, previous research answering the relationship between
DV and IVs
3. End by mentioning your hypothesis (ses)

2. Provide a
