Thesis: Today I am going to persuade you that organ donation is the ultimate gift of life.
Motivation: Some of you may be against organ donation because you may not be interested in donating organs until yourself or a loved one needs one or you just may not have enough knowledge on the subject I will provide this information for you today. Agreeable + Motivation- Some of you may agree with organ donation already be a donor and know all of the benefits of donating. Today I will enhance your current knowledge.
Personal: I am proud to say I am an organ donor. I chose to become an organ donor at the age of sixteen when I got my driver’s license because I want to give someone else a second chance at life or improve a person’s overall quality of life if I am able to. Borrowed- I have researched several websites; listened to guest speakers, and even taken a psychology class on death and dying, life and living and through this class I have read a chapter in the book on organ donation and the process. Summary- Today I talked to you about why you should donate, organ and tissue donation, and the donation process. CWI- 121,125 is the number of men, women and children waiting for a lifesaving donation right now, 96,645 is the number of people just waiting for a kidney, 18 is the number of people who die each day waiting for a transplant, 10 is the amount of people added to the organ donation list each day, 90 is the percentage of people who support organ donation, 30 is the percentage of people who know how to become a donor and sadly only 45 % of the population is even registered to be a donor.
