They sat at a desk in a cushioned chair with the room at one of two temperatures: hot (about 90 degrees) or cold (about 65 degrees), depending on their condition. In the center of the room was a blow-up doll that would bounce back to the normal condition when punched. The Informed Consent Form was signed first, which indicated that the current study was about aggression. Next, participants were asked to punch the doll as much as they would like for 30 seconds. The number of punches was recorded by the experimenter.
