Guided Response: You are required to substantively respond in writing on the discussion board to at least two of your colleagues by Day 7 (the following Monday). Respond to your peers as if you are Mr. Franklin receiving the information about EBP instructional strategies. Ask questions and make connections for how the strategy might be applicable across students in your classroom. As you review the posts submitted by your peers, some responses may also consider how your topic may be similar (or different) to others in our class. Consider asking additional clarifying questions or providing sources to extend the discussion.

This forum should be used as a scholarly platform to discuss similar or opposing ideas and career goals and to provide additional sources that you may have found helpful to your own learning and preparation.

Though two replies are the basic expectation, for deeper engagement and application of the material, you are encouraged to provide responses to any comments or questions others have given to you (including your instructor) before Day 7. This ongoing engagement in the discussion will deepen the conversation while providing opportunities to demonstrate your content expertise, critical thinking, and real-world experiences with this topic.

Manage Homework help – Discussion Entry

Hello Everyone,

Evidence based practice is the best form of directory that can be used to give instructions to children with special needs. Children who have special needs always want to be treated with care and this cuts through to the education sector, (Ramis et.al, 2019). The evidence based practice is the best method that is used by educators when dealing with children who have special needs. An example needs to be done on a repeated basis for them to understand. This is because most of these children are not always sharp and in order for them to understand, the instructor has to teach or rather instruct them using examples and illustrations.

The best strategy that Mr. Franklin should employ in this scenario is show and tell, this strategy involves telling the students within the classroom what is expected of them and showing them by modelling the expected. This will also break the boredom for the kids or rather students as they are expected to do something or rather model, (Hailemariam et.al, 2019). This creates a good environment for the kids not only to learn but also to enhance their skills.

To complement this evidence based strategy Mr. Franklin needs to question and check for understanding from the students. This will help them to be on the same page, most teachers have a large amount of time that is set aside for asking questions but they do not really check for understanding from the students. Mr. Franklin should employ these as a strategy to reach out to the students and help them understand better the course, especially to the students with special needs.

Response 2

hello Dr. Smith and Class,

Dr. Mr. Franklin,

After our last discussion, I decided to go online and find different resources to help Huang and other students. That are struggling in academics, literacy, mathematics, social/behavioral skills, and self-help skills. I found a website I feel will benefit all our students. It’s called What Work’s Clearinghouse.

The strategy I was more focused on was Functional Behavioral Assessment-Based Interventions. The reason I chose this particular strategy is it focuses on students from kindergarten through high school. Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) is an individualized problem-solving process that Huang requires to help student’s who are struggling with behavioral problems.

Using (FBA) will help us identify the purpose or function of the student’s behaviors. Collecting data would involve gathering information about environmental conditions that provoke actions to occur and ways to reward and reinforce behaviors from reoccurring. We may also use the information we collect to implement individualized intervention geared towards a specific behavior and redirect it to more positive action. FBA is used to examine different FBA-interventions identified for each student.

We can use FBA to address diverse problems related to behavior, such as disruption and off-task behaviors, non-compliant and inappropriate social interactions.

Mr. Franklin, once you’ve had time to review The What Works Clearinghouse website, please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or more ideas to help progress the academic to help our students reach their annual IEP goals. I am very excited to see how we can implement these strategies into our classroom’s daily activities. (Institute of Education Sciences).

Sincerely,

Lavon Rosenbaum
