Word Basics:Highlight to Select&Highlighter
ToolHighlight to Select:Microsoft Word allows you
to select text by highlighting it with your mouse or your keyboard. To highlight with your
mouse:·
Use the left button on your mouse and click once to the left of the
first letter you wish to highlight.·
Then, hold down the left button and move your mouse to include the text
you wish to highlight.·
If you wish to select more than one page of text while holding down your
left-click button, move your mouse down and the document will scroll for you.
If it does not scroll for you, do not let go of your left-click button and with
your free hand, press the âDown-Arrowâ on your keyboard.Another way to SELECT ALL
of your text at one time is to use the keyboard command Ctrl-A. Simply hold down the CTRL-button
located at the bottom-left corner of your keyboard, and then press the letter A.
This keyboard command function will highlight and select all of the text in
your document. This can be helpful when you want to modify your entire document
for something such as double spacing or alignment.Highlighter Tool:The colored highlighter
feature of Microsoft Word is often confused with the âhighlight-to-selectâ
function. To highlight text with various colors: ·
Use your mouse to highlight and select the text you wish to color.·
Then, find the colored highlighter button and select the color you
desire from the drop down..png”>Practice: Use what
